VAPIANO!

Uptown Charlotte welcomes a new and exclusive international franchise, Vapiano! Vapiano is located on the ground floor of the South Tryon Square building. With over 30 open locations in 8 different countries; Hungary, Poland, Sweden, Dubai-United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, England, and the United States! You know my friends and I had to check it out. It was great, but I'll tell you about that later.

Vapiano was founded in Germany in 2002. To start things off, you will be given a barcoded card that will serve as your in-house credit card. You are then invited to visit the various stations and order whatever you like. The chef or bartender takes your trusty card and swipes the order onto your card. Their Italian-cuisine inspired menu includes a myriad of homemade pizzas and pastas, as well as an extensive salad bar. They also offer a great appetizers and snacks. I would be remissed not to mention the array of original cocktails and mixed drinks. We all took turns trying the various options (no more than two each, drink responsibly) but they were pretty amazing. They were somewhat peculiar flavors but good nonetheless.

The night was really great, especially once we realized that we could also enjoy the sounds and people of the street on the restaurant's open patio. We sat outside, just a few feet away from our mixologist for the night! It was a great time. We tried our best to make our way around the 10,000 square ft. area. At the end of the night, we proceded to the cash register where we covered the bill. I ended up spending around $25.00 for the entire night. Not to shabby if I should say so myself. If I were you I'd check it out.

Press Wine/Food

Press Wine/Food is a swanky, yet affordable restaurant located in Uptown Charlotte. I have recently had the pleasure of enjoying a few of their delicious treats and must applaud their excellence in service. I recommend anyone looking for a smooth, tranquil place to relax and unwind this weekend, go and experience Press Wine/Food of Sonoma Restaurants. **Saturday nights are half-price bottles of wine** I’m just saying. ;)

Night on the Town

Tonight was a great night. Went out on the town with my friends (Trystan, Ryan, and Josh). It turned out to be pretty fun, despite the fact that Trystan LIED about having complimentary admission passes to a club, Butter,  that isn’t even open on Wednesdays. (Love you dude) We ended up going to another club, Suite,  here in Charlotte, NC.; where Trystan, once again decided to park a block and a half away from the place we were trying to get to. (Love you again dude, just telling the story, :D) As we walked up to the doors, we first noticed the obvious celebrating of today’s unofficial holiday. I have never seen this much Bob Marley paraphernalia in my life! I have been to Jamaica and they don’t even sport Mr. Marley as hard as people were tonight. Secondly, we noticed a group of young ladies who attend our University. They were refreshingly friendly this particular evening. ;) We talked and chatted for a while before going upstairs to the club. The crowd was uniquely diverse. I saw a little bit of everything there. People of different age groups, races/nationalities, sexual orientations, cultural identities; I mean it was a wide range of people there. It was fun though. Of course, I did get a little aggravated at times but, it was only because I am not a fan of the bodily fluids of other people. The music jumped from genre to genre all night. Either everyone was partaking of the holiday or sipping their favorite cocktail, because most people kept dancing regardless. It was great to watch. All in all, it was a great night. Thought I’d share. Goodnight.

Mint Museum

The mint museum is a breath of fresh air (get it?!). If you enjoy the mint museum, you will enjoy this place because it has so much to offer. The best part about it is that COLLEGE STUDENTS GET IN FOR ONLY $8.00.

NoDa Art Crawl

The art crawl is an event that takes place on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month in NoDa (North Davidson). It's a great place to gather and be filled with inspiration, admiration, and any other -ation you can think of. There are a lot of things to see, some things may even shock you. But it's a great and FREE!!! event to visit.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar

I have never(100x) in my life tasted a burger this good. I would consider myself a burger connoisseur and Bad Daddy's Burger Bar is at the top of my list. From to atmosphere, to the drink menu, to the delicious burgers that they serve, this place is a "must visit" if you come to Charlotte.

P.S. They also serve fried pickles, and they can't be topped!

Music

There are hundreds of thousands of albums out there, but most of them can hardly be called quality. Here are a couple music reviews that will help you weed out the weak.

Watch the Throne - Jay-Z & Kanye West

If I had to describe this album in one word, that would be a losing game. This album sets itself far apart from all others. Packed with above par beats, lyrics that call for thinking (and even research), and a host of themes that go beyond the surface of "just a song", this album surely will not disappoint.

21 - Adele

The numbers speak for themselves. This woman has conquered the world with her music. In this album, Adele has successfully redefined what it means to be a soul singer. This is one of the very few albums that can be played from start to finish without skipping one track.
